Harlequin’s Banquet

Harlequin's Banquet is a series of still lifes on the theme of the meal, absurdity and the theatre character the harlequin.

The series aims to create an aesthetic through food: the table containing the food becomes a painting. The aim of this editorial was to create a disturbing aesthetic by playing on the textures of jellies and tooth jewelry. The jewel becomes food in its own right, and the menu of this disconcerting banquet is unrecognizable. After this good meal, these cheerful characters wipe their faces. These traces of make-up then also become a "dish to be savored" and an integral part of the banquet, like faces to be devoured.

All the photos were constructed with this ambivalence around the objects and materials used, between the theatrical and medical worlds, play and non-play, between silverware and cheerful face masks.
